Shelby Center Hospital for Animals was remodeled in 2002, providing our clients with over 7500 square feet of state-of-the-art veterinary services. We are located at 6923 Highway 64, one block east of Summer Avenue and Highway 64. We offer six examination rooms, a surgical suite, dental suite, and two isolation wards. To better serve our clients, we also offer a full service pharmacy, as well as neutreceuticals, and prescription diets. We carry Science Diet, Eukanuba, Waltham, IVD, Royal Canin and Purina prescription foods for both dogs and cats.

Our boarding facilities offer climate controlled, separate boarding areas for dogs and cats, plus 'kitty kamp', a specialty cat boarding area, which features an aquarium, television and playroom for your special kitty. Dogs are boarded in our spacious kennels and are exercised twice daily in our outside runs. All pets are provided a premium balanced diet. Shelby Center Hospital for Animals' updated radiology department and diagnostic facilities have doubled to better serve our clients. In our fully equipped lab, we can run full chemistries, electrolytes and complete blood counts helping our doctors to diagnosis your pet's illness quickly and accurately. We also have the ability to digitalize your pet's x-rays with our Digital Radiograph Converter, allowing us to email x-rays to a specialist for consultation, if needed, or to copy conventional film x-rays to a CD. Our diagnostic abilities have been enhanced with the addition of our ultrasound with color Doppler. By using the ultrasound's advanced imaging system, the doctors are better able to assess your pet's health with a non-invasive procedure.

Our state of the art surgical and dental suites are equipped with complete cardiac and respiratory monitoring systems to help ensure the safety of your pet. In our dental suite, we not only perform basic dental procedures, but we now offer dental x-rays, endodontics, and periodontal therapy. Our specially trained dental technicians will be glad to instruct owners on proper dental care for their pets. If surgery is required, our health care team is able to monitor surgical patients with a pulse oximeter, blood pressure monitor and EKG machine. All surgical patients are discharged to their owners with a personalized, written discharge.
